WHO Updating Gender Guidance to Reflect Woke Agenda

Fox News: The World Health Organization will update its gender guidance to reflect its belief that gender goes “beyond non-binary,” the organization has announced. The WHO has an existing “gender mainstreaming manual” which argues that there are many genders existing on a spectrum from male to female. The organization now says that does not go far enough, however. The updated guidance will focus on “highlighting and expanding on the concept of intersectionality, which looks at how gender power dynamics interact with other hierarchies of privilege or disadvantage, resulting in inequality and differential health outcomes for different people,” the WHO website reads at the time of reporting. The update will also emphasize “going beyond non-binary approaches to gender and health to recognize gender and sexual diversity, or the concepts that gender identity exists on a continuum and that sex is not limited to male or female” (Fox News). Daily Mail: Professor Jenny Gamble, a midwifery expert from Coventry University, described the WHO’s change as ‘problematic’. ‘It is a dismissal of basic biology — and mistake,’ she told MailOnline. ‘Biology is a key determinant of health and illness. ‘Not being clear about basic biology opens the door to a range of problems, including very poor health communication but also distorted data’ (Daily Mail).

Berkeley Professor Calls Senator Hawley “Transphobic” for Questioning Who Can Get Pregnant

This is the type of person parents are trusting to educate their children. Fox News: A Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on abortion and the legal consequence of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization blew up during a tense back and forth between Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., and Berkeley Law Professor Khiara Bridges when the senator questioned her characterization of who can get pregnant. After Bridges referred to “people with a capacity for pregnancy,” Hawley asked if she meant women. When the professor stated that some women cannot get pregnant and that some transgender men and non-binary people can, Hawley questioned whether abortion is really a women’s rights issue, as it has historically been presented. This led the professor to accuse Hawley of creating a dangerous situation with his question. “I want to recognize that your line of questioning is transphobic, and it opens up trans people to violence by not recognizing them,” said Bridges, who teaches courses in family law as well as reproductive rights and justice (Fox News). Katie Pavlich: This is absolutely nuts (Twitter).

Arizona Judge Strikes Down “Personhood” Law That Would Have Granted Civil Rights to Fetuses

Associated Press: A federal judge in Phoenix on Monday blocked a 2021 state “personhood” law that gives all legal rights to unborn children and that abortion rights groups said put providers at risk of prosecution for a variety of crimes. U.S. District Judge Douglas Rayes said in his written ruling that the groups that sued to block the law are right — it is “anyone’s guess,” as the state acknowledged, what criminal laws abortion providers may be breaking if they perform otherwise-legal abortions. “And that is the problem,” Rayes wrote. “When the punitive and regulatory weight of the entire Arizona code is involved, Plaintiffs should not have to guess at whether their conduct is on the right or the wrong side of the law.” Rayes agreed with the challengers that the law appears to be unconstitutionally vague (Associated Press). Daily Wire: Arizona’s personhood law had said that state laws “shall be interpreted and construed to acknowledge, on behalf of an unborn child at every stage of development, all rights, privileges, and immunities available to other persons, citizens and residents of this state” (Daily Wire).

Biden Cites Possible False Story Regarding 10-Year-Old Rape Victim When Pushing to Legalize Roe

New York Post: On July 1, the Indianapolis Star reported that a local OB-GYN, Dr. Caitlin Bernard, had been contacted four days earlier by an Ohio “child abuse doctor” who told Bernard that they had just seen a 10-year-old patient who was six weeks and three days pregnant. According to the story, that meant the girl was three days too late to obtain an abortion under Ohio’s new law, which went into effect following the Supreme Court’s June 24 decision overturning Roe v. Wade. The Star reported that Bernard took responsibility for the girl’s care, but did not specify whether the child underwent an abortion or any other procedure. The outlet also did not identify the doctor who told Bernard about the case and Bernard appeared to be the only source for the story (New York Post). Federalist: Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said during an interview with Jesse Watters on Fox News Monday night that a police report has not been filed regarding the viral story about a 10-year-old girl who was allegedly raped and impregnated and then fled to Indiana to get an abortion due to the restrictive laws in her home state. In fact, according to Yost, there is “not a whisper” of a police investigation nor any corroborating evidence for the single-source story. In other words, either the Ohio doctor broke state law by neglecting to report the rape of a child to police, or Bernard — the abortionist and activist who told the story to The Indiana Star — fabricated the whole story to advance the left’s abortion goals. National media outlets including The Hill, The Guardian, and Newsweek ran with the story without verifying the claims. And even President Joe Biden cited the alleged incident as fact during his push to federally codify Roe — or, in other words, legalize abortion for any reason in every state through all nine months of pregnancy (Federalist).

Starbucks to Shut Down 16 Stores Across Democrat-Run Cities Due to Spikes in Crime, Drug Use

Wall Street Journal: Starbucks said it would permanently close six stores each in the Seattle and Los Angeles areas, two in Portland, Ore., and single locations in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. by the end of the month. The company said it received reports from workers about incidents that they said involved drug use by some customers and in some cases, members of the public, in certain locations. Starbucks said it would transfer employees to other locations when it permanently closes the stores. “We read every incident report you file—it’s a lot,” wrote U.S. operations leads Debbie Stroud and Denise Nelson in a message to U.S. employees Monday. “We cannot serve as partners if we don’t first feel safe at work,” they said, referring to the company’s term for employees. Starbucks also said that it would give store managers leeway to close restrooms, limit seating or reduce operations in response to safety concerns. The moves are part of policies aimed at addressing workers’ concerns, including about their safety on the job, the company said (Wall Street Journal). New York Post: The Seattle-based coffee chain plans to reassign the employees from its shuttered locations to other restaurants. The Post has reached out to Starbucks seeking comment. Large cities have seen a rise in violent crime and theft over the past two years. Seattle has seen a surge in both violent and property crime since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. Los Angeles has seen more people killed by guns during the first six months of 2022 than during the same period in any of the past 15 years, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (New York Post).

California Bill Creates “Safe Haven” for Minors Seeking “Gender-Affirming Health Care”

California Family: A committee in the California legislature passed SB 107 last month, a bill that would establish the state as a “safe haven” for minors seeking transgender procedures, including sterilizing puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and mastectomies. The bill, authored by Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco), allows insurance companies, physicians, and contractors to disregard subpoenas pertaining to child custody and other court measures from other states if the child is being medically treated for gender dysphoria. It also bans health care providers from providing medical information requested from another state if that state has a policy allowing civil action to be taken against individuals who perform “gender-affirming health care” on children. The bill grants California courts a “temporary emergency jurisdiction” for multiple reasons, including abuse, abandonment, and protection of a child, or if a “child has been unable to obtain gender-affirming health care or gender-affirming mental health care” (California Family).

House Leader Kevin McCarthy Begins Training Staffers for Post-Midterm Investigations

Daily Caller: House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is planning a series of training sessions for House Republican committee staffers in what’s viewed as the party’s next step to prepare for post-midterm investigations. McCarthy and House Administration Committee ranking member Rep. Rodney Davis of Illinois sent an email Tuesday morning to staffers inviting them to the upcoming sessions, dubbed “informational briefing(s).” The email, obtained by the Daily Caller, is titled “Oversight Education Series: Investigations 101” and the briefings are designed to ready House committee staffers for conducting oversight, a person familiar with the House Republicans’ plans explained to the Caller. The first “Investigations 101” briefing is slated for the afternoon of July 22, according to the email. McCarthy will also host a second briefing Sept. 8 and a third Sept. 26. The investigations list, the Caller previously reported, includes border policies implemented under the Biden administration, the origins of COVID-19, and the administration’s reaction in testing, opening schools, and its dismissal of natural immunity. The person familiar with Republicans’ plans also said the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) contract at the Department of Defense (DOD) ison the investigations list (Daily Caller).

Hunter Biden May Face Prostitution Charges

As investigators look into to his shady business dealings. Daily Wire: The development comes as new information has reportedly been uncovered from his laptop, and graphic images of Hunter Biden have circulated on social media in recent days, including video of him weighing a large quantity of what some social media users described as “crack” cocaine (Daily Wire). Daily Mail: Prosecutors may have a case for federal prostitution offenses against Hunter Biden, according to documents, texts and videos that show he spent a staggering $30,000 on escorts in a five-month period. The president’s son wrote checks to a Ukrainian woman whose transactions were red-flagged by banks for suspicious activity, documents reveal. A Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) filed by JPMorgan Chase named Florida and New York-based Ekaterina Moreva after she received tens of thousands of dollars from Hunter’s company and women who the First Son paid for sex (Daily Mail). Brandon Tatum: His iPhone cloud was hacked and the information was put all over 4chan. It is absolutely devastating. Now, we all know that if you are a Democrat or you are akin to a Biden or a Clinton, you can kill people and nobody’s going to ever hold you accountable. However, to see the president’s son with hookers, I mean — okay, doing sexual stuff is on your own dime. You know, you’re a grown man, you can record whatever you want to. But for that stuff to be all over the internet, him apparently, allegedly, weighing crack cocaine on a scale, enough crack cocaine to put you in prison for a very long time. That’s his son (Daybreak Daily).

Twitter Officially Sues Elon Musk for Pulling Out of Buyout

CNBC: Twitter filed suit against Elon Musk in the Delaware Court of Chancery on Tuesday after the billionaire said he was terminating his $44 billion deal to buy the company. Twitter said Musk, after entering a binding merger agreement, now “refuses to honor his obligations to Twitter and its stockholders because the deal he signed no longer serves his personal interests.” “Having mounted a public spectacle to put Twitter in play, and having proposed and then signed a seller-friendly merger agreement, Musk apparently believes that he — unlike every other party subject to Delaware contract law — is free to change his mind, trash the company, disrupt its operations, destroy stockholder value, and walk away,” Twitter wrote in the complaint. “This repudiation follows a long list of material contractual breaches by Musk that have cast a pall over Twitter and its business.” Twitter said it seeks to stop Musk from further breaches of the agreement and compel him to consummate the merger “upon satisfaction of the few outstanding conditions” (CNBC).

Gavin Newsom Signs Gun Legislation Allowing Residents to Sue Gun Manufacturers

Politico: California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill Tuesday allowing individuals as well as the state and local governments to sue gun makers for negligence, potentially paving the way to a wave of lawsuits if the legislation survives inevitable legal challenges. The measure reflects an effort by California and other states led by Democrats to strengthen gun restrictions following mass shootings across the country in the face of fierce opposition by the industry, its Republican allies and a conservative Supreme Court. California’s measure creates a code of conduct that features various safeguards intended to reduce gun violence, authorizing lawsuits for violations by the state attorney general, city attorneys and individual citizens. The bill takes effect next summer (Politico). Gavin Newsom: Gun manufacturers & distributors have been shielded from the mass destruction they cause for too long. Today, CA changes that. I just signed a bill that will allow victims of gun violence to sue the makers of these deadly weapons & hold them accountable (Twitter). NBC: At the federal level, the 2005 Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) “largely shields firearm manufacturers and dealers from lawsuits when people use their products illegally, such as by shooting someone,” NBC News reported in April 2021. Other industries, like “pharmaceutical makers and airlines, have special immunity from some types of lawsuits,” contrary to comments made last year by President Joe Biden stating the firearm industry was unique in the protections it had (NBC).
