Our progressive of the year has a really impressive resume: former School Board member, AmeriCorps alumni, LGBT Board member with Obama for NH, candidate for State Representative, and Laconia City Democrats Chair. The progressive cause is only as successful as the volunteers who step up and dedicate their free time to organize and make a real change in their communities.
Carlos Cardona has done exactly that and that's why we're honoring him as the Progressive of the Year.
Take a couple minutes and read this piece from the Washington Post about Carlos's background and his journey to progressive activism. It is certainly inspiring.
If we want to beat Trump and veto Gov. Sununu, we will all need to be like Carlos and lean in, organize, and selflessly dedicate ourselves to making sure we elect the next generation of leaders who will take care of everyone, not just those at the top.
