Kamala Harris is now picking a fight with Governor Abbott and the whole state of Texas because we are finally taking matters into our own hands and arresting illegal migrants.
Even the President of Mexico is trying to interfere with our 2022 gubernatorial election, encouraging all people of Mexican descent in Texas to vote for Beto. This is unprecedented!
Now is not the time for Texas to be intimidated, but rather to double down. And there is no better way to double down than to officially declare an "Invasion" at our Southern Border. Sign my petition to tell Texas to declare an Invasion >>
The significance of the word "invasion" is critical here. Article IV of the U.S. Constitution states: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion."
Red-tape constricts Texas's ability to tackle the illegal immigration crisis head-on, but by declaring an invasion we have a clear constitutional basis to force the federal government to act AND to take matters into our own hands.
Cartels have taken operational control of our border, driving a human smuggling operation that is moving both human beings and deadly fentanyl for profit. We have seen a record number of illegal migrants and drugs being trafficked across our border. This is a coordinated attack against our country and our state.
Abbott and Paxton have been very vocal about fighting this border crisis. The Governor even endorsed my plan for securing the border. This is very encouraging -- momentum is on our side!
Unlike in Washington D.C., state officials in Texas will listen to our voices -- so let's insist that we as a state go further and declare an invasion.
