It’s Charlie Crist. This year, I’m running to be Florida’s next governor — which means I’m also leaving my current job as the U.S. representative for Florida’s 13th District.

As I made this decision, I was reminded of my first time running to represent Pinellas County. We were up against a Republican incumbent, and we succeeded in flipping this seat blue through hard work, connecting with our community, and leading with respect.

This midterm election, we are up against a tide of Republicans trying to take away that success. It won’t be an easy fight, so we need a proven leader to take on this race. That's why I am proud to endorse Eric Lynn, the Democratic nominee for the 13th District.

Eric is a leader, first and foremost. He knows not just how to listen to his community, but also how to deliver results. He understands the needs of Pinellas County, and the reforms we need on issues that matter — like healthcare, protecting our environment, and bolstering our economy.

Eric and I both grew up in this district, we’re both proud to have dedicated our lives to public service. From knocking on doors in St. Pete all the way to the Obama Administration, Eric consistently puts his responsibility to others first.
