Friend,
In the two weeks since the right-wing majority of the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade, several state trigger laws banning abortion have gone into effect, House Republicans began working on national abortion restrictions, and clinics providing abortion are seeing much greater demand for services from people from states with bans who are seeking abortions.(1)(2)(3)
However, we’re also seeing some important victories as a result of public pressure and ongoing organizing, including Courage members like you. President Biden signed an executive order to protect access to abortion and reproductive health services. California is one of several states working to expand abortion protections, Google has committed to deleting location data of people visiting abortion clinics, and more and more leaders, including Representative Pramila Jayapal, are calling on the Senate to abolish the filibuster and pass the Women’s Health Protection Act of 2022 to protect abortion nationally.(1)(4)(5)
Protecting abortion is within reach – both for the thousands of people seeking abortions now, and permanently restoring this fundamental freedom of choice for everyone in the future.

Most importantly, share these resources! We need to counter right-wing attacks and disinformation with facts, funding, and strong laws.
I am confident that the will of the people will prevail, and that abortion will again be enshrined as a right protected by law for everyone. Let’s continue this important work together.
Yours in the fight for protecting abortion,
Irene, along with Amber, Angela, Annie, Isidra, Jay, Lindsay, LisaMarie, Mai, Mai, Raquel, and Scottie (the Courage team)
