Hi folks —

Last week, my team and I sent out a short survey and we’ve really enjoyed reading your responses. In order to do my job right in Washington, it’s important for me to hear from folks like you about what issues you’re most concerned about. And for folks like Tom, Deanna, Leslie, and countless others — thank you for trusting me with your input.

So folks, after reading through your responses, I want to share a few takeaways with you:

Nearly all of you agree that Congress must enact common-sense gun safety laws.

I couldn’t agree more. That’s why last month, I voted to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which President Biden recently signed into law. Now, states will receive the resources they need to implement red-flag laws that keep guns out the hands of dangerous people, strengthen background checks, and more.

This is an important first step. But as we saw earlier this month in Highland Park, more is needed to end this epidemic. I’m a proud co-sponsor of the Background Check Expansion Act and the Assault Weapons Ban of 2021 — and I’ll continue fighting to pass common-sense measures supported by a majority of Americans and gun owners alike.

Most of you are rightly distressed about attacks on reproductive rights.

After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, millions of Americans lost decades of protections and access to abortion care. Reproductive rights are non-negotiable, and we’re working to protect the right to choose.

From pushing online search engines to root out misinformation about reproductive care, ensuring members of our armed services can continue accessing reproductive health care no matter where they’re stationed, urging the Biden administration to continue taking bold action, and voting to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law — we won’t stop fighting to defend reproductive rights.

But most of all, the one issue you all find deeply important is climate change.

No matter who you are or where you live climate change impacts every single one of us. In Colorado, we’re on the frontlines of this crisis.

Last year, I helped write the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, which is already delivering much-needed investments to help America transition to clean energy, protect Coloradans from worsening wildfires, and expand electric vehicle charging.

But we must go further. Congress needs to act swiftly to reduce our carbon emissions, create green energy jobs, and invest in clean energy sources of the future like wind and solar.

Folks, our continued progress on every one of these issues depends on our Democratic majority. There are so many Senate seats on the line this November, including my friend Michael Bennet’s in Colorado — so we need to step up.

If you can, will you chip in any amount to help us protect our Democratic majority? This grassroots team knows a thing or two about what we can do when we come together — and that’s exactly what we need to do right now.
