In states across the country, majority-male GOP legislatures (and male GOP governors) are passing terrible laws that discount women’s health, safety, and rights to bodily autonomy.

Just look at Texas. Last fall, the Lone Star State passed a draconian law that put a bounty on women’s heads by relying on private citizens to sue anyone involved in an abortion. Before Roe v. Wade was overturned, and according to NPR, John Seago, the legislative director for Texas Right to Life, stated, "We are actually, in Texas, getting a glimpse of what a post-Roe world will look like."

Meanwhile, 73% of U.S. Representatives are male. Recently, a congressman from Texas has stated his plans to introduce legislation to ban abortion at the federal level. Our most basic rights are on the line, and, as only 27% of our representatives are women, we don’t have anywhere close to the representation we need to weigh in on decisions about our own bodies.

Her Bold Move is on a mission to change that. We’re here to elect pro-choice women and shatter every single 👏glass 👏ceiling that still exists in our government.
