The elections analysts at
FiveThirtyEight just released their first forecast in our race.
According to their report, my race is a toss up, but due to the tough midterm environment, a slight edge is being given to my Republican opponent Esther King.
Only 14 districts in the country are listed as toss ups, and this report is a reminder that national Republicans are gearing up to spend whatever it takes to flip this seat red.
We have some ground to make up, but being within 1.4% means we're clearly within striking distance. I'm hoping for a strong grassroots response to this forecast to prove we have the strength to close the gap and win this race:
