The ultra-rich are sleeping on the climate crisis. At 5am this morning, we paid them a wake up call.
Friend--
As the city (and much of the country) prepares for dangerous heatwaves, our governor and her ultra-rich donors are sleeping on the climate crisis.
That’s why this morning we paid them a wake-up call. At 5am we visited the Hamptons homes of billionaire investors Steven Schwarzman and Dan Loeb, with pots and pans and (plastic) pitchforks to send a message— you’re destroying the planet, you need to pay to fix it.
We can no longer afford inaction. Heatwaves, hurricanes and wildfires are making our planet a less safe place for us to live — RIGHT NOW.
People like Dan Loeb and Steven Schwarzman cause double the emissions of the poorest 50% of the population. All while using tax loopholes and political connections to keep their profits high and their contribution to the greater good low.
We’ll keep fighting like the future of our planet depends on it, because, it does. And I hope I can count on you to fight with us.
Best,
Alicé Nascimento
