It’s hard to believe I’m already saying this – but we have less than a month to go until our August 2nd Michigan primary. 

This year has really flown by: I’ve made the move to Lansing, hit the ground in the new 7th district, and just last week we launched our first campaign ad on TVs across the Lansing media market (you can check it out here if you haven’t seen it already). 

I don’t have a primary challenger this time around, which means I’ll be focusing my attention for the next few weeks on continuing to build out our strong volunteer networks, registering people to vote, and continuing to meet voters in the new parts of my district. On the Republican side, my presumed opponent is trying to win against a well-funded write-in campaign. The GOP feels at least somewhat worried about it, because their Super PACs have spent nearly half a million dollars to make sure the party favorite wins.

Ahead of that August 2nd primary we have an important filing deadline coming up tomorrow, on July 13th. Before a primary election, campaigns are required to report how much they’ve raised since the end of their last quarter – in this case, June 30th. That means we have another opportunity to show my opponent what Team Slotkin can accomplish in just 13 days.

So, I’m asking if you’d consider making a contribution before that July 13th deadline – both to help me prepare for November AND to show the other side what they’re up against!
