In strengthening this safety net, I’m looking at Michael Guest. A voting record like his ensures our state remains last or almost last on every socioeconomic metric. Forget strengthening the safety net. He’s cutting away at it.
As your next Congressman, here’s the federal action we need to take: |
👦🏾👧🏼 Secure more federal child care subsidies. Seven out of every 10 MS kids under five who qualify for vouchers are currently unserved.
💵 Establish pay equity and a $15/minimum wage. Recently signed state legislation leaves many gaps. MS women are the top earners in over half of all households, more than any other state. Leaving this unaddressed is an economic concern.
🩺 Expand Medicaid. MS still has high rates of uninsured folks. All should have access to quality care. 🍼 Supporting paid parental leave, which is not a benefit for public and most private-sector workers in MS. |
Michael Guest has talked his way around these issues or refused to address them. But I’m a man of my word. I understand that lifting women and families isn’t just the morally right thing to do. These policies would put more cash flow in our communities. That’s economic sense, and it’s why I’m running to oust Guest. Pitch in what you can to help drive our campaign forward. |
