john,

I’m Peter Welch, and I’m running to be Vermont’s next Senator. When I graduated law school, a lot of my friends ended up on Wall Street or K Street. But I decided to work as a public defender on Bridge Street in White River Junction, Vermont. I loved the work I was doing in the community — and my friends in New York and DC weren’t able to step right outside their homes and onto a trail for running, hiking, or mountain biking.

I ran for Congress to serve more Vermonters than I was as public defender, and to keep the beautiful state I loved pristine. Now, I’m running for Senate to have an even greater impact for Vermonters. But with Mitch McConnell targeting this race, it’s going to take everything we’ve got to keep this seat — and the Senate — blue.

Tina and I are determined to keep the Senate blue so we can keep fighting for you. If you’re able to, john, please consider splitting a donation between our campaigns today.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately and be split between Tina Smith and Peter Welch:

Bridge Street is where I got my introduction to how Vermonters get things done: by focusing on solutions, not who gets the credit. I’ve carried those lessons with me throughout my career, and they’ve been a major key to my success as a Congressman.

There’s so much we can accomplish for the people of Vermont and for working families nationwide: quality and affordable child care, paid family leave, climate action, lower prescription drug costs, protecting the right to abortion, strengthening voting rights, and so much more. I’ll continue to work to deliver results on your behalf.

But if Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans regain the majority, they will continue their assault on individual rights and our democracy. This is the only open seat held by a Democrat this cycle, so we have to win to stop that from happening.

john, the national GOP is ready to pour money into Vermont to flip the Senate red. Can you split a donation between our two campaigns today to power this team to victory?

Thanks so much,

Peter Welch
