John, things are only going to get worse if we don’t do three things.
A radical, extremist Supreme Court and right-wing state legislatures are taking away our rights and threatening our democracy. If we don’t act now, it could be too late to protect our elections, abortions rights, the environment, and so much more.
We must end the filibuster, pass legislation to codify Roe v. Wade and Expand the Supreme Court, and hold all those responsible for the January 6 insurrection accountable. This is how we protect our rights AND our democracy.
Getting rid of the filibuster is the only way we can codify Roe and pass legislation to Expand the Court.
Codifying Roe is a step Congress must take to protect abortion rights for people across the country.
Expanding the Supreme Court is a key way to fight for our rights and our democracy — expanding the Court will allow President Biden to appoint Justices that will protect our rights, freedoms, environment, and democracy. If we don’t act now after such a destructive Court term, our democracy is in serious jeopardy. The Supreme Court will be hearing a case next term that could destabilize our elections in 2024 — we must act now.
Holding all those involved in the January 6 attack on the Capitol accountable is critical to ensure something like it doesn’t happen again. We must show that there are consequences for efforts to undermine our democratic elections and that encouraging such attacks on our democracy is a punishable offense.
This is what our fight is about right now, even as we organize and campaign to hold our Democratic majorities in the House and Senate. It’s a lot of work and Pramila needs your support.
