John, did you see this headline from LGBTQ Nation ?
Texas AG willing to spearhead Supreme Court case to criminalize sodomy again
Ken Paxton has long supported sodomy bans, saying they're necessary for "public health" and to "discourage sexual activity outside of marriage."
That’s right: Texas’s terrible attorney general is getting ready to put horrific sodomy bans back in place – and use the law to challenge Lawrence v. Texas in the Supreme Court. As if he hasn’t done enough damage to Texas’ LGBTQ community!
But there’s good news too: our LGBTQ state legislators are fighting back. These seven women - Jessica González, Mary González, Celia Israel, Ann Johnson, Julie Johnson, Jolanda Jones and Erin Zwiener – are our firewall against anti-LGBTQ actions in Texas. Just look at what they’ve achieved despite Ken Paxton and Greg Abbott: they successfully blocked every piece of anti-trans legislation, forcing Paxton to use convoluted legal maneuvers to enact his transphobia. Together with other legislators, they fled the state to protest a voter restriction bill and mobilized in Washington, DC.
Out leaders are on the front line in the fight to preserve LGBTQ rights, protect trans kids and ensure voting rights are secure. We can’t let them stand alone. Pitch in TODAY to let them know you’re with them and AGAINST Ken Paxton! [[link removed]]
