And according to a recent poll, a majority of Americans agree. But the problem is that Republicans are not on board. They still think Donald Trump’s actions (inciting a violent attack on the Capitol) are perfectly permissible. Anyone who stands on Trump’s side in this has no place in our government. But Republicans will stop at nothing to win elections, even if it means stealing them. The same survey found “Republicans were the only partisan group whose majority do not want to see Trump being charged over the Capitol riot and his attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election.” Even in the face of insurmountable evidence that Trump incited a deadly insurrection, Republicans are standing by him! It’s horrifying, but at this point, not particularly surprising. We cannot let Republicans win in 2022, John. It’s a threat to our democracy and it’s a danger to the future of our country.
