Friends,

Today, several of my colleagues in Congress will be leading a public hearing of the January 6th committee. They’re doing the difficult and thankless task of exposing the truth of this assault on our nation.

Meanwhile, Republicans are working overtime to spin the facts and deceive the public about what actually happened. That’s why I need to know if concerned Americans like you will be tuning in to today’s committee hearing:

The danger isn’t over yet. The democracy our heroes gave their lives to defend is still at risk.

The insurrection has proven my far-right colleagues to be, frankly, remorseless cowards. They watched a violent armed mob demand to kill Speaker Nancy Pelosi and hang Vice President Mike Pence. Their only loyalty is to Donald Trump.

Not their constituents. Not their party. Not even their country. Just Donald Trump.

Make no mistake: these extremists are an imminent threat to our democracy, and I will continue to do everything in my power to hold them accountable.

Folks, for a year and a half now, I’ve refused to let this insurrection fade from our memory.

But ultimately, we won't be saved by the 537 of us who hold federally elected office alone. It is on all of us as Americans.
