It’s been quite an eventful week here at Inequality Media.
Here are some highlights:
We had our best Giving Tuesday ever — thanks to generous supporters like you. We blew past all of our previous totals and surpassed our initial goal. We can’t wait to put your dollars to work to produce even more videos that debunk right-wing lies, strengthen our democracy, and build an economy that works for the many, not the few.
Our video, Who is Worse: Donald Trump or Mitch McConnell? was featured in a hard-hitting HuffPo article. He’s maybe the most dangerous politician of my lifetime. He’s helped transform the Republican Party into a cult, worshiping at the altar of authoritarianism. He’s damaged our country in ways that may take a generation to undo. We released our latest video on the racial wealth gap with Solana Rice, co-founder of Liberation in a Generation. For every 100 dollars in white family wealth, black families hold just 5 dollars and 4 cents. Even when Black and Latinx households earn a solidly middle-class income, they accrue just a fraction of the wealth of White households. And by the middle of the century, Black and Latinx median household wealth will nearly be zero. It’s time for a reckoning. But instead, policymakers and wealthy corporations are doubling down on inequality. Our latest video analyzes these systems of injustice:
