Todd Harper was sworn in Monday by FHFA Director Sandra Thompson to serve a full term as NCUA Board Chairman; NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger was in attendance.
NAFCU Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Greg Mesack Monday wrote to the House Rules Committee to voice the association’s priorities and concerns regarding the fiscal year 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) as the committee considers the legislation and what amendments to make in order on the House floor during a Committee meeting today. The Rules Committee is considering over 1,200 amendments that were filed to the NDAA, some of which would affect credit unions.
Total consumer credit rose 5.9 percent, at a seasonally adjusted, annualized rate, in May and is up 7.3 percent compared to a year ago. Revolving credit - primarily credit cards - rose 8.1 percent this month and is up 13.4 percent compared to May 2021. Non-revolving credit – primarily auto loans and education loans – rose 5.2 percent this month and is up 5.5 percent from a year ago.
