John -- Transforming Philanthropy is a 4-day retreat for young people with high net wealth or who have family foundations and who want to build the skills and analysis necessary to be powerful donors to social justice movements.
Transforming Philanthropy is held only every other year and is an intimate space with 50 spots available.
Register for our next conference, Transforming Philanthropy, here.
Is Transforming Philanthropy right for you?
The conference is for people ages 18-35 who through individual or family wealth are among the wealthiest 1% in the U.S. Specifically, if you fit one or more of the following criteria, you are who we want at this conference!:
- You have a family foundation or are involved in a family giving vehicle
- You are an individual or are part of a couple who has access to $1M or more in liquidable* assets (*liquidable assets means wealth that is held in cash, stocks or bonds, as opposed to non-liquid assets, like a house or car)
- Your family has $10M in assets or more
- You anticipate inheriting at least $5M in your lifetime
- Transforming Philanthropy might be appropriate for individuals who do not meet these criteria but who are giving significant amounts away each year. If you would like to attend and do not fit these criteria, or are unsure if you do, please reach out to Nora, RG's High Net Wealth Program Coordinator, at [email protected]
Over the course of the retreat, participants will engage deeply with questions of where our wealth came from, how to redistribute it, and what roles young people with wealth can play in fueling social change.
The retreat provides skill-building workshops, education about the current political landscape, intersectional analysis, space for reflection, and offers 1-on-1 support with progressive financial advisors, social justice organizers, and relationship building with peers in small groups.
This part of Resource Generation's community and dues-paying membership have high giving and wealth redistribution potential, and with that unique questions, challenges, and responsibilities in taking action.
