Monday Nature Mystery
Last week’s mystery was a real puzzler! No one was able to guess correctly. The answer is…drumroll…Common Raven (Corvus corax)!
According to Cornell Lab’s All About Birds, the Common Raven is an acrobatic flier, often doing rolls and somersaults in the air. One bird was seen flying upside down for more than a half-mile. Their feathers, while appearing black, actually have a blue iridescence that is visible in the right light. The complexity of color within the bird world is fascinating!
