John, it's crazy to me that MAGA extremists are attacking the right for a person to obtain an abortion while also blocking efforts to ensure paid family leave and affordable childcare. 

Here in Missouri, where women are facing some of the most extreme abortion laws in the country, families are not guaranteed either paid family leave or universal Pre-K. It's cruel to force anyone to give birth, but it's even worse to not help them after they have.

It's backwards and heartless to offer so few protections for families. But this isn't just a moral issue; it's also an economic issue: More than a million mothers would rejoin the workforce if childcare were affordable.

By investing in access to childcare, we would give families more financial security, give more mothers the opportunity to lead their own careers, and give our economy a $48 billion boost every single year.

As a nurse, a children's advocate, and a parent, I know that the childcare crisis requires bold leadership and swift action. That’s why I included bringing down the cost of childcare by introducing a sliding scale limit on childcare costs for families in my affordability plan.

Congress must pass similar legislation to secure affordable childcare and paid family leave for the good of our families and for the good of our economy. When I'm elected to the Senate, I promise that I will work my heart out to win protections for families and for moms.
