John,Last month, the Supreme Court announced its decision on West Virginia v. EPA , which took away a key tool from the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate the greenhouse gas emissions of power plants. Without regulation to reduce greenhouse gas pollution from power plants, it will be exceedingly difficult for the U.S. to meet our emissions goals and protect ourselves from the worst consequences of climate change.
John, we can’t let this decision defeat us. We must continue to pass legislation that keeps us on track with battling climate change – and we cannot let any opportunity to pass meaningful climate policies slip by.
That’s why we need your help right now: The Senate is currently sitting on a budget reconciliation bill containing critical climate and clean energy investments. This could be the last shot at major climate legislation for some time, and we need pressure on the Senate to act. John, will you add your name to our petition calling on the Senate to pass this climate package before the August recess? [[link removed]]
ADD YOUR NAME [[link removed]]Passing this budget reconciliation bill means more than just avoiding the worst impacts of climate change. It also would prevent future energy and inflation crises like we’re experiencing today because of skyrocketing gas prices. This huge investment in clean energy will transition our nation to environmentally and economically sustainable solutions.
But time’s running out. The path forward is bleak if this bill is not passed before the August recess. We cannot lose this opportunity to pass meaningful legislation to combat climate change.
Let the Senate know that a sustainable energy future is too important to sit back on: add your name to our demand for action now >> [[link removed]]

Thanks to your help in 2020, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
