Earlier this month, the Biden administration announced sweeping changes to the federal student loan system to support borrowers with student debt relief.

These measures are a step in the right direction but they’re not enough.

President Biden has the ability to cancel student loan debt for all, and with 45 million Americans burdened by $1.7 trillion in total debt, that’s exactly what he should be doing.

Canceling student loan debt is not a windfall for the rich — it’s a lifeline for working Americans. It’s a racial justice issue and a gender equality issue.

It’s time to cancel student debt — for all, not just some.
