Join Us for the Red-Carpet Virtual Premiere of Anything's Possible

Billy Porter’s directorial debut, ANYTHING’S POSSIBLE, is a delightfully modern Gen Z coming-of-age story that follows Kelsa, a confident high school girl who is trans, as she navigates through senior year. When her classmate Khal gets a crush on her, he musters up the courage to ask her out, despite the drama he knows it could cause. What transpires is a romance that showcases the joy, tenderness, and pain of young love.

There is so much to celebrate about this film, at a time when we must celebrate trans youth more than ever. So the filmmakers are making the film’s red carpet premiere accessible to LGBTQ+ people and the people who love them--and we hope you will join us! Understanding the limitations of COVID, and the anti-youth, anti-family legislation threatening our safe spaces, this free event will be virtual and accessible for folks in the safety of their own homes, or at PFLAG meetings or anywhere with their friends.

Register to join by midnight, tomorrow, Tuesday July 12th, at tinyurl.com/APpremiere. Once registered, you will receive an exclusive link to view the celebrity red carpet, a free concert, and the film. Watch at home or with a group (including your PFLAG chapter as a fun virtual event) anytime between July 15-17.

Advocacy

Tell your Representatives: Support the Trans Bill of Rights

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), Co-Chair of the Transgender Equality Task Force, introduced the Trans Bill of Rights in the House with several of her colleagues. The bill, which PFLAG National was proud to endorse, would protect trans and non-binary people from violence and discrimination by recognizing their civil rights and investing in community programs which prevent targeted violence.

Call your Representative and tell them to pass this bill before Summer Recess!

Something to Talk About...Live!

International Non-Binary People's Day

Celebrated for the first time in 2012, July 14 is International Non-Binary People’s Day. It is observed worldwide to raise awareness about the issues faced by people who are non-binary and the lack of legal recognition they experience in countries around the globe.

Join us this Thursday, July 14 at 4:30 PM ET / 1:30 PM PT for Something to Talk About Live! where we will be discussing Belinda Luscombe‘s article, “Public Opinion About Gender Identity Is Increasingly Complex” which appeared in TIME Magazine. We're excited to welcome Heron Greenesmith, Senior Research Analyst, Political Research Associates to the conversation!

You can watch live on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
