Last week, President Biden signed an executive order to protect women's reproductive rights in the aftermath of the Supreme Court's drastic decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. The order will expand access to emergency contraception and IUDs, increase outreach and public education on abortion, protect patient privacy, and more.
 
While this is a significant step forward in protecting reproductive rights nationally, 
it is not enough. We STILL need to expand the court and take additional bold steps to ensure reproductive equality for everyone.

We must ensure our reproductive rights are never threatened; we believe in never accepting half-measures and taking action even when it's not politically convenient.

Melanie’s plan won’t just ensure reproductive rights are protected for the next four years — she’ll make sure they are protected for generations to come.
 
By passing the Women's Health Protection Act, Congress could codify Roe v. Wade into law. The WHPA would prohibit states from creating unnecessary barriers for people to access reproductive care. But we need Democrats to grow a spine and eliminate the filibuster or create a carve-out so we can pass this bill with a simple majority in the Senate.
 
Melaine’s plan would also make the Supreme Court a people’s court. Passing the Judiciary Act would expand the Supreme Court by four seats, bringing the total back up to 13 seats for the 13 circuits. Adding more Supreme Court justices would ensure that it never reflects only one party’s political agenda, ensuring the people's will.
 
She’s also calling on President Biden to finally repeal the Hyde Amendment and for Congress to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment.
