Friend,
The Supreme Court foisted yet another unmoored ruling on the American people. In West Virginia v. EPA, the court's six right-wing justices snipped the EPA's ability to regulate greenhouse gas emissions at power plants. This decision not only limited the EPA’s ability to do its job, but can be used to prevent the government from carrying out basic functions like making sure drinking water is clean, food is safe, and medicines actually work.
None of this is in the interests of the American people or of the planet, for that matter. So whose interests is this Court serving?
Dark money swirled around this case, and this recent ruling is what Big Polluters were hoping for. It shows just how far the fossil fuel lobby will go for self-preservation – and how thoroughly those very same interests have captured the Supreme Court.
No longer tethered to precedent, this crew of six Federalist Society darlings has gone on a right-wing rampage. The Supreme Court is facing a legitimacy crisis, and I'm leading the effort to clean it up.
I'm fighting for increased transparency around the Court’s workings and accountability for its justices – and doing everything I can to illuminate the role dark money has played in the Court’s transformation into the judicial organ of right-wing donors. We've got a lot of work left to do to turn the tide, and today I'm asking for your support in this fight:
I'm leading the fight to rein in the influence of right-wing special interests on the Supreme Court, but I need your help. Will you make a donation of $5 or more to my campaign today to help me continue this work? I don't take a penny from corporate PACs, which means my work depends on grassroots supporters like you.

If we keep at it, we will change the course of the Supreme Court. Thank you for being part of this team.
Sincerely,
Sheldon
