The support of our members is crucial at this moment.

Friend - two weeks ago, the West Virginia v. EPA Supreme Court decision came down, gutting the EPA's ability to regulate carbon emissions from power plants. With the EPA authority narrowed, there is extreme urgency to pass legislative action on climate change - and there's only a short window to act this summer. Congress has only a few weeks before they leave for a long summer of campaigning in their home districts.

Last month, a group of generous LCV donors offered to triple match every contribution to our campaigns. Following the SCOTUS decision, they agreed to extend the deadline through this month, so we can keep the pressure on Congress to act now.

LCV members have already responded in a major way. People from all over the country have pitched in with $5, $10, $20 donations - many becoming members for the very first time, and many making monthly contributions.

Our campaign is working. Senators are back at the negotiating table, working to hash out a deal this week. We're asking for your help to keep this effort going.

The best thing you can do right now is to claim your LCV membership - all it takes is a gift of $5 or more. Your support is what powers our campaigns for climate action. [link removed]

If Congress fails to act, the Supreme Court's 6-3 decision will lead to an unacceptable escalation of pollution and the climate crisis.

Extreme weather emergencies will become more frequent and destructive. It will make it harder for future rules to emphasize transitioning away from power plants located in environmental justice communities. We must act on climate now to transition to a clean energy economy

Congress must finally take action to tackle the climate crisis and promote long-term energy security by passing the $555 billion for investments in climate, jobs, and justice through the Senate. We must also rebalance and expand the Supreme Court and fill judicial vacancies to end special interest control over the courts and protect our climate, democracy, equality and rights.

We cannot afford to wait. It's time to act on the climate crisis now.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be ramping up our campaign, putting as much pressure as possible on Congress until they act. We cannot leave anything to chance - now is when historic legislation that addresses the climate crisis will be won or lost. So we're asking:

Please, claim your LCV membership - all it takes is $5. Support from our members is what will determine how hard we can push. We need the entire environmental movement in our corner right now. [link removed]

Thanks for your support, Friend. Let's go make history together.
