Hi John, We did the math in our Conservation Scorecard and Gov. Tony Evers received a 100 percent score for his leadership on clean water, clean energy, and democracy issues! The GOP-controlled legislature could have done a lot of damage this past legislative session if Gov. Evers hadn't used his executive orders and his veto power. |
Using the veto, stopping the bad
Gov. Evers used his veto power to stop relentless attacks on the environment and our democracy.
He protected our freedom to vote by vetoing every anti-voter bill that made it to his desk. His vetoes prevented the partisan takeover of our elections, protected our freedom of speech, protected access to the ballot, and prevented polling place intimidation tactics.
Gov. Evers also used his veto to fight big polluters and protect Wisconsin’s water, land, and wildlife. He stopped developers from privatizing our Great Lakes shorelines and he protected our deer and trout populations by defending science-led ecosystem management. |
Using executive orders for good
Gov. Evers did more than play defense. He used his executive power to advance clean energy and clean water issues, protect the freedom to vote, and tackle racial inequity.
A proven leader on PFAS protections, he championed the first-ever statewide PFAS rules and continues to distribute funding to communities for testing. |
