** Glenn Grothman cancels debate as Mullenix Polling grows
------------------------------------------------------------
I am sad to report that Glenn Grothman has canceled our scheduled debate, graciously hosted by the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin. The core foundation of our democratic process relies on an informed electorate. This is done through in part, debates. Debates provide voters with key information about their candidates, and showcases the differences between the two. A common theme I have heard throughout this process is that Glenn only looks out for himself and the most devout of his followers. He puts Party over People. Sadly, this has proven true. As our numbers have grown in the polls (see below), Glenn decided to take a defensive strategy of hiding himself from the public. It’s hard to blame him on that strategy, he knows how devastating a debate would be for him if he finally had to answer for his record. Alas, I did personally email, call, text, and even Facetime him. Neither was returned
** Our message is catching on
------------------------------------------------------------
It’s funny what happens when you campaign towards actual proposals that help the people, the public starts to notice. We have been conducting an internal poll of data (to be released soon), but in the interim I was made aware of a recent set of public polls that came out in our race. According to the recent istandwith data, we are now polling at 44% in our race against Glenn Grothman. This reflects this districts desire to take care of our veterans and provide better mental health coverage. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey thus far, together we are making a difference. It is nice to see how much progress can be made, when we listen to our community. WE CAN DO THIS!
** 4th of July Parades
------------------------------------------------------------
Over the 4th I, along with some volunteers, attended parades in Oshkosh, Neenah, Menasha, and Wautoma. It was wonderful to see everyone out enjoying festivities honoring America. Especially in my hometown of Menasha. Particularly wonderful to hear all the cheers specifically directed at supporting mental health and expanding veterans benefits. It was great to see the community come together to celebrate such a wonderful holiday. I ran into my opponent at the Menasha/Neenah parade, and was able to wish him a happy 67th birthday! It was great that we were able to put aside our differences and celebrate the independence of the greatest country on earth.
** We March On
------------------------------------------------------------
I am excited about the final month of the campaign given all we have accomplished and how much people are starting to listen. I have a simple favor to ask, if you can contribute in any amount to help our goal of expanding veterans benefits and improving mental health coverage, I’d appreciate you doing so. I won’t do as my opponent does and bombard you with fundraising gimmicks such as donate $20.22 or $42 for Title 42. You can also purchase items from our store, where the proceeds go to the campaign.
Thank you,
Douglas
