It is time to take action.

Dear Friends,

During the Independence Day weekend, the Highland Park community was added to the tragic list of mass shootings in the United States. This violence is senseless and has done irreparable damage to the lives of far too many people.

Enough is enough. The President has signed a bipartisan bill that works toward curbing gun violence, but more has to be done. As Vice President Harris stated last week, “there is no reason that we have weapons of war on the streets of America. We need reasonable gun safety laws.”

When it comes to reproductive rights, Friday displayed another example of an administration that is fighting for us with every tool they have. President Biden signed an Executive Order ([link removed]) Friday morning, vowing to protect access to reproductive health care services.

Let’s work together to build safer, stronger, and more supportive communities for everyone.

Best,

Swearing In of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson

“Today, history has been made. With her swearing in, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson becomes the first Black woman to serve as an associate justice on the Supreme Court. The Court will greatly benefit from the insight she will provide: as a Black woman, a public defender, and a judge who has served at the district and appellate levels and clerked at the Supreme Court.”
