Kia ora John,
This month, we’re celebrating 106 years of the New Zealand Labour Party – and I didn’t want to miss the chance to mark the occasion.
Labour has worked hard over the past 106 years to make Aotearoa better for everyone. From building the first state house to declaring New Zealand nuclear free, from launching the Super Fund to extending paid parental leave, Labour has made important changes that have made a real difference for generations of New Zealanders.
As we celebrate our birthday, I want to pass on my thanks for your contribution to this legacy. None of what we’ve achieved over the past 106 years would have been possible without the members, volunteers, and supporters who chip in, help out, and turn up to make New Zealand a better place. Thank you.
While this is a chance to celebrate our history, it’s also an opportunity to look to our future. As we continue to tackle the big issues and face new challenges, it will be the members, volunteers and supporters at the heart of our movement who ensure we can keep building a fairer, more inclusive New Zealand.
