JOHN,
A few weeks ago, the Supreme Court handed down a disastrous decision overturning the constitutional right to choose – and in the weeks since, we have begun to see the real life implications.
Since the ruling, Congressional Republicans have made one thing clear: If they take back control of the House, national restrictions on reproductive healthcare will be at the top of their agenda.
JOHN, we can’t let that happen. Will you chip in to my campaign to flip this seat blue so we can protect these basic rights at the federal level?
While abortion remains legal and accessible here in New York (thanks to efforts that my opponent called “barbaric”), across the country, we are seeing extreme legislation restrict the ability for women to make decisions about their own bodies.
Abortion bans have been introduced in 31 states this year. Outright abortion bans have taken effect in ten states, with eight additional states already having or expecting to pass restrictive limits to abortion.
In some state legislatures, we are even beginning to see legislation that could impact access to certain types of birth control.
JOHN, we can’t give up on this fight. Our best chance at pushing back against these attacks is by keeping the House majority out of the hands of Congressional Republicans and electing leaders who will codify these rights into federal law.
So I’m asking you to join me: Will you step up today to help us flip this seat back to blue and protect the right to choose?
Thanks you,
Max |
