Dear Friend,

On Thursday, we officially announced a coalition along with the New York State Conservative Party to bring a lawsuit against the unconstitutional gun laws passed during shady late-night sessions in Albany. The moment Democrats passed this outrageous bill, I vowed to fight them in court. We have been working the phones and talking to legal experts to build a coalition and bring a winning case that will stop this law in its tracks. Chairman Kassar has been a true partner with us and I’m proud to be joining forces with him again to ensure we protect New Yorkers’ constitutional rights.

Total one-party rule in Albany has been a complete disaster and the Democrats have shown us time and again that they believe the laws just don't apply to them. Just like with the illegal Hochulmander and non-citizen voting scam in New York City, we will once again stop their disgusting power grabs and deliver a victory for common sense New Yorkers. Click here to help fund the legal fight!

Kathy Hochul continues to follow in the footsteps of her corrupt mentor and disgraced Governor, Andrew Cuomo. Just this week it has come to light that a pay-for-play scheme involving a state liquor license was negotiated via email and they didn't even try to hide it. Kathy Hochul's campaign fundraiser was CC'ed by one of her top donors on government emails after they were denied a license. Suddenly just 5 days later, the decision was reversed and the license was approved. Kathy Hochul is as corrupt as they come and New Yorkers deserve better than this corrupt cabal. It all stops on November 8th, 2022 when we elect Lee Zeldin governor.

Sincerely,

Nick Langworthy

NYGOP Chairman

Gina Arena was born and raised in a working-class Westchester family, and grew up in Bedford, then Pound Ridge and Vista. Being a working mother with eight children (ages 15 to 32), Gina always understood the need to balance work and family while volunteering in the community.

Public service was an important value taught by her father, Ray Andretta. Her husband Jim is a volunteer firefighter and her daughter Victoria was an Army Sergeant who served in Afghanistan, so it clearly runs in the family.

When Gina’s autistic daughter Jesse wasn’t getting the education she needed, Gina researched cutting edge educational programs and developed a program for her. As a direct result, Gina helped create the Foundation for Educating Children with Autism and the Devereux Millwood Learning Center.

When her son Jimmy died from brain cancer at age 6, Gina and her husband established the Just Imagine Making Miracles Yours (JIMMY) Foundation in his memory. This organization helps children suffering from life-threatening diseases and/or injuries with financial assistance.

All her life, Gina Arena served the community. Now she’s running for a seat in the NY State Senate to do even more. Gina wants her own children and grandchildren — and those of her friends, neighbors and colleagues — to be able to live, work, and raise families of their own here in Westchester and Putnam.

As our district’s tax burden continues to rise, it’s more and more difficult for everyone — young people, seniors, working couples — to stay in Westchester and Putnam.

NYGOP Must See News:

New York's quickly adopted new gun laws also quickly targeted with pro-gun lawsuits

Washington Times

To challenge the new law, the Second Amendment coalition was formed by the New York Republican Party, the New York Conservative Party and the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association. The Washington Times reached out to Gov. Kathy Hochul, who signed the law last week, but did not hear back. “The moment Democrats passed this outrageous bill, I vowed to fight them in court,” said Nick Langworthy, chairman of the New York GOP. “We have been working the phones and talking to legal experts to build a coalition and bring a winning case that will stop this law in its tracks.” Tom King, chairman of the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association, said, “The Supreme Court ruled decisively on this issue and Democrats once again showed complete disregard for New Yorkers’ rights and the rule of law.”  Mr. King’s group spearheaded the Supreme Court case that struck down the state’s previous carry law. The new law has other critics, including the New York State Sheriffs’ Association which called the new gun law “unconstitutional” and “reactionary.”

“Some action by the Legislature was necessary to fill the firearms licensing vacuum created when the Supreme Court struck down New York’s unconstitutional restrictions on our citizens’ right to keep and bear arms,” the sheriff’s association said in a statement. “But it did not need to be thoughtless, reactionary action, just to make a political statement.” The sheriffs also objected to the way Democrats rammed the bill through the legislature, saying the bill “first saw the light of day on a Friday morning and was signed into law on Friday afternoon.”

New York's new gun laws expected to face court challenge

Times Union

Thursday's announcement by the GOP and Conservative parties did detail any specific issues with the amended gun laws, only noting that they are "unconstitutional." The groups said they intend to form a coalition that will bring a court challenge. Their statement said the amended laws "severely (limit) New Yorkers’ ability to obtain a concealed-carry permit following the Supreme Court’s decision striking down New York’s law that was in violation of the Second Amendment." "The moment Democrats passed this outrageous bill, I vowed to fight them in court," state Republican Chairman Nick Langworthy said. "We have been working the phones and talking to legal experts to build a coalition and bring a winning case that will stop this law in its tracks."

Limousine liberals won’t be hit by congestion pricing — but middle-class New Yorkers will

New York Post

Intestinal fortitude is a rare commodity in politics, and nowhere was its absence more evident than in the word salads Gov. Kathy Hochul tossed up on congestion pricing in last month’s Democratic primary debates. Congestion pricing is an awful plan. It hasn’t worked in London. It won’t work here. And the governor must have correctly sized it up, as she told a debate audience that “now is not the right time” and new “hurdles” might be difficult to overcome. Of course, that wasn’t the end of it. The Democratic Party no longer caters to the diverse working-class outer-borough families who make up the majority of our city. Instead, it is the elitist, brownstone-occupying, Aperol-spritz-with-a-side-of-socialism-sipping woke progressives who bend its political arc. And that crowd is anti-car über alles.

Candidates for governor look toward November after big wins in their respective primaries

Spectrum News

But Hochul’s opponent, Zeldin, also has issues that people are worried about. He is hoping to tap into fears about crime and the high cost of living to swing independent voters into his camp. "This isn’t just a red wave," Zeldin said in his primary victory speech. "This is a common sense wave. It’s a common sense wave that reaches out to everybody across this state." It was also a very bad night for the progressive left. Most insurgent candidates lost their races. Some within the party worry that this could spell trouble in November if a large portion of the base isn't energized. "Where is the progressive wing of the party going to be in November? The progressive wing of the party, they are going to stay home. They stayed home on Hillary [Clinton]. And what did that get them? Look, stay home. If they stay home in record numbers, then Zeldin has a real chance to upset the incumbent governor,” Doherty said.

Albany’s business as usual with Hochul continuing the pay-to-play corruption

New York Post

There is nothing subtle about Gov. Kathy Hochul’s approach to ethical government — she’s against it, and it shows. But there’s something perversely refreshing about Hochul’s contempt for conflict-of-interest convention. She scarcely pretends to care, and how often does that happen? It’s unclear whether this reflects arrogance or is just more evidence of executive-chamber dim-bulbism. The accidental governor hasn’t been around long enough for an aide to go to prison — a hallmark of the previous administration — but Hochul seems to be working on thatTake this gem, courtesy of Albany Times Union statehouse reporter Chris Bragg. Late last year, according to Bragg, Hochul policy director Micah Lasher received an after-hours email from Manhattan developer — and significant Hochul campaign contributor – Paul Milstein. It seemed that the State Liquor Authority had denied a booze permit Milstein sought, and the developer demanded that the decision be reversed.
