If Congress just sits back without putting up a fight the Supreme Court may very well never be accountable to the American people again

With a far-right, illegitimate Supreme Court stripping away fundamental rights across the board the need to push for Supreme Court reform is greater than ever, John.

We cannot just sit back and watch the Supreme Court deliver blow after blow to our rights without calling for a wide set of democratic reforms that will make sure the Court upholds everyone's constitutional rights.

From expanding the Court to rotating justices, there are numerous constitutional reforms that can be made to ensure that the Supreme Court isn't just an institution rigged in favor of Republican extremists for decades to come.

If you’re as angry as we are about the Supreme Court's rulings, please take a moment to read a message from our CEO Yvette Simpson below and add your name to our petition calling for Supreme Court reform now.

John,

As we have witnessed over the last week, the Supreme Court is delivering a massive blow to our democracy on issue after issue, from abortion rights to gun control and federal efforts to combat climate change.

The damage the Supreme Court’s 6-3 radical right-wing majority will cause with even more time cannot be underestimated.

That’s why Congress must pursue multiple solutions to reform the Supreme Court, from enforcing existing ethics standards, to rotating justices and also expanding the Court.

Will you stand with DFA as we call on Congress to save our democracy and reform the Court?

Take Action

With a 6-3 supermajority, the hyper-partisan right-wing Supreme Court is leading attack after attack and Republicans are closer than they have ever been to completely unraveling our democracy.

The Supreme Court did not reach this point democratically though— Republicans have worked nonstop to commandeer our nation's highest court, with the goal of cementing decades of minority rule.

Our only solution to restore this institution is to reform the Supreme Court and ensure that it upholds justice and equality for all, and unlike Republicans, Democrats can do it without abusing power.

Democrats must act as a check on Republican manipulation and restore the legitimacy of the Supreme Court by pushing for a set of reforms well within the purview of the Constitution, including expanding it, which has been done seven times before. The Court has been expanded to reflect the number of judicial circuits, and the current number is 13. It would be consistent with historical precedent to expand the Court to 13 justices.

With the Supreme Court facing a legitimacy crisis, we need you to call on Congress to save our democracy and reform the Court now.

Take Action

Thanks for stepping up at this urgent moment.

-Yvette
