I’m reaching out today because there have been a couple more major developments in our race, and I hope by the end of this email you’ll chip in to help us out. Here is the link.

First, Republicans got their top candidate to run against me, County Supervisor Tom Patti. He was hand picked by Kevin McCarthy to be my opponent because he is in lock step with the MAGA wing of the Republican party.

Then, political forecasters downgraded our race to a toss-up. They said our contest will likely decide who controls Congress this November. Nate Silver even said we have a real chance of losing.

Now, the GOP is waging an all-out assault on a woman's right to choose and our basic freedoms in this country - and Tom Patti could be the deciding vote to criminalize abortion nationally.

After all of these developments, we’re in trouble. And the GOP knows it. That’s why Kevin McCarthy laid down a brand new attack campaign against me over the 4th of July.

I’m afraid July will be a slower fundraising month for us and that we won’t have the resources we need to fight back effectively. I don’t take a dime of corporate PAC money, so that’s why I’m coming to you today and asking for your support.
