Our food safety is at major risk due to climate change.

Rising temperatures across the country are increasing the growth of pathogens in our food, causing a chain reaction of food-borne illnesses.

Heat waves and storms are causing large-scale power outages and ruining our food storage systems. Over the next few years, we’ll need to invest hundreds of millions of dollars into infrastructure that can withstand the effects of climate change and protect our health and planet, but adaptation and mitigation can only go so far.

Unless we attack the problem at its source by quickly phasing out fossil fuels, this threat to our food supply will only get worse. Will you chip in $5 right away to send a resounding message to our elected leaders that we need to phase out fossil fuels ASAP?

This is just one example of how climate change affects our livelihoods at every turn. Recently, the American Medical Association declared climate change a public health emergency. Our leaders need to wake up and pass legislation to end our use of fossil fuels and transition to clean, renewable energy sources right now. And if they won’t, we need to fight like hell to replace them.
