John,

Last week we told you about the dangerous ruling issued by the Supreme Court in West Virginia vs. Environmental Protection Agency.

Make no mistake, we are not taking this ruling laying down. We’re determined to fight harder than ever. There is hope for a greener tomorrow because we know that when people stand together to oppose dirty energy, we can stop the fossil fuel industry!

Join me and my colleagues Mitch Jones, Deputy Director Food & Water Action, and Alex Beauchamp, Northeast Regional Director on Thursday, July 14 at 4:00- 4:30 pm ET/ 1:00-1:30 pm PT to discuss what this ruling means and what we now.

John,

The Supreme Court (SCOTUS) has turned its back on long-established precedent and embraced far-right ideology. The impact of their ruling curbing the EPA’s ability to regulate air pollution from power plants will have far-reaching and long-lasting consequences — if we let it.

I’m angry. I’m sure you are too.

That’s why Food & Water Watch is committed to fighting harder than ever. We won’t let the Supreme Court stand in the way of a liveable future. We’re taking the fight to the streets and the local, state and federal levels – all to protect our food, water and climate.

John, we need you in this fight now more than ever – not just for today – but for tomorrow. Join us by making a gift to Food & Water Watch. Your gift will be MATCHED $2-to-$1 to help protect our planet not only for us but for future generations.

Last year, West Virginia sued to take away the EPA’s ability to regulate dangerous greenhouse gas emissions from power plants. But the Clean Air Act gives EPA that authority, a fact reaffirmed twice by the Supreme Court. Today, however, the Supreme Court ignored its own precedent and sided with corporate polluters. They’ve dealt a blow to the federal agency's ability to fight the climate crisis, but our movement is ready to fight back.

We will not give up. We’re determined to fight harder than ever; we know that when people stand together to oppose dirty energy, we can stop the fossil fuel industry. Nearly two-thirds of voters want power plant emissions regulated. The era of fossil fuels is over, and we’ll fight to make sure we’re heard loud and clear. Will you join us?

Your gift to Food & Water Watch of $35 or more will go 3x as far to power our campaigns to right this wrong and take on those who threaten the environment and the planet.
