Last week, the director of Israel’s security service “Shin Bet” announced that its agents had foiled 172 substantial terror attacks in the last year alone.
The attacks they prevented ranged from potential shootings and bombings to suicide attacks, any of which could have caused mass civilian casualties.
Just this year, 19 Israelis have been killed in a wave of terror attacks on Israel’s streets. Were these additional 172 attacks not thwarted, it’s hard to imagine how many more lives would have been lost.
Terrorist attacks—whether planned by Iran-backed terrorist groups like Hamas…or the lone wolves they inspire—are yet another reminder of the serious dangers Israelis face every day.
They’re also a reminder of why your work with AIPAC remains critical.
Through AIPAC, you help us ensure that America’s leaders in Congress always understand the current dangers facing the Jewish state.
You help build unwavering bipartisan support for critical security assistance that helps Israel deter enemies dedicated to its destruction.
And you help ensure support for congressional efforts that strengthen bilateral collaboration in areas like homeland security, intelligence and cybersecurity.
