I grew up in a single-parent household and almost failed out of high school. If it weren’t for my supportive mother and mentors, who knows where I would be today.
The American Dream - the possibility of going from cotton to Congress - was never guaranteed to me. Now, I’m committed to making sure that every child has the same opportunities regardless of which side of the tracks they grew up on.

I’m in the Senate to fight for the American dream for all Americans. That means fighting for kids who grow up in circumstances like mine, protecting our God given rights, and expanding opportunities for all Americans regardless of race, gender, age, and political identity.
I’m a humble person and hate asking for favors. But I’m nothing without you - I can’t do this on my own. Our extended end of month deadline is tonight and we can’t waste any more time. We haven’t raised enough to hit our goal, but it’s not too late.
