I won’t sugarcoat it: If you’re someone who cares about human rights and democracy, things feel very hard right now. The Trump Supreme Court just dealt us a bunch of setbacks, and Republicans keep trying to undermine fair elections.

But I’m convinced we can’t stop fighting. Because that’s exactly what they want.

President Obama: "Our opposition is counting on the NDRC to lose the energy and drive that our movement has sustained so far. We simply cannot afford to do that."

When a lot of bad news comes at once, things can feel overwhelming. But it’s important to keep an eye on the long game. Since this spring, the NDRC has been planning more ways to help us protect our democracy and mitigate some of the worst SCOTUS rulings.

This strategy includes shining a spotlight on critical races, mobilizing our grassroots network, partnering with national and state-based allies, and investing resources to support pro-democracy candidates. But here’s the thing: We can’t carry out all our plans alone. This will take all of us, working together.
