Battles are going on across the nation in the name of reproductive rights. The end of Roe v. Wade will likely lead to about half of the country placing restrictions on abortion.

As residents of Los Angeles, we have long been a sanctuary for women seeking access to abortion care. Our state has some of the most expansive reproductive rights laws in the country, and it's critical we keep it that way.

The recent Supreme Court rulings on reproductive freedom, climate change, immigrants' rights, and gun regulation prove exactly why local government matters. We must act on our own to stand against these attacks on our freedoms.

As your mayor, I will always stand up for the privacy of Angelenos. I will fight to make our city safer, and I will make tackling climate change and environmental injustice a top priority.

Meanwhile, my opponent has no environmental platform to stand on. And he has a history of supporting anti-abortion organizations and politicians who are celebrating the Supreme Court's disastrous ruling and already pushing for a national abortion ban.

This November, we will decide the type of city we want to be and what kind of mayor we want to lead us during these historic times.
