Announcing Chef Martin Yan in Conversation with Mark Padoongpatt
OCA is honored to announce that Chef Martin Yan will be joining us in Las Vegas to discuss the path of cultural acceptance for Asian cuisine, with associate professor and author, Mark Padoongpatt
For over four decades, legendary chef Martin Yan has educated and entertained millions around the world. The title star of public television station’s (APT) Yan Can Cook series (3,500 shows and counting) is one of the longest running cooking programs from Singapore to San Francisco. Beyond the public airwaves Chef Yan’s business enterprise includes several successful restaurant ventures, 30 plus cookbooks, countless public appearances, and culinary consulting projects for many Fortune 500 businesses. Always eager to lend a hand to worthy causes, Chef Yan is active in helping many charitable foundations in their fundraising efforts. He’s also a frequent judge and panel member in numerous national and international culinary competitions, including the Iron Chef on the Food Network (U.S. / Canada / Vietnam).
Chef Yan will be speaking during our Youth/College Track workshop: AAPI Heroes from the Table to Worldwide, which will travel back in time to an age when Asian American cuisine first started the road to cultural acceptance in America and where we are today.
Be sure to register for the OCA National Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, to attend this plenary and plenty of other workshops and special events! Registration will close by August 3rd, so don’t miss your chance!
