His failure to disclose income from right-wing organizations, recuse himself from matters involving his wife and his vote to block the Jan 6th Commission from key information must be investigated and could serve as grounds for impeachment. - AOC

FIRST: We learned that Clarence Thomas’ wife, Ginni Thomas, urged Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and several Republican state legislators to take steps to overturn the 2020 election results.

AND: Justice Thomas failed to disclose income from right-wing organizations and tried to block the Jan. 6th commission from accessing key information.

NOW: Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is calling on Justice Thomas to recuse himself and for an investigation to be launched because these actions could serve as grounds for impeachment from the Supreme Court.

– this is a potential conflict of interest, but the Supreme Court doesn’t have any formal rules on when a Justice should recuse themselves. So we’re polling grassroots Democrats in your area to gauge public opinion.

This is serious. Clarence Thomas cannot make rulings impartially in cases where his and his wife’s interests are involved. In January, he was the only Justice who wanted to block key information and documents from being released to the Jan. 6th House committee.

These actions, if left unchecked, will set a dangerous precedent for our democracy. And since the Supreme Court does not have an ethical code of conduct for when Justices should recuse themselves and impeachment is the only way a Justice can be removed, we need your opinion right away.
