Jack,
My mom is my superhero. When times were tough, she wrapped pennies for me to make it through college. I owe her the world.
So it crushes me when I hear rumblings about Republicans like Michael Guest threatening her future. Planning to gut her Social Security — and payments for 416,500 other Mississippi seniors — for good.
Mississippi might be ranked the cheapest state to retire in. But under Guest's leadership, we're leaving our seniors behind. Too many are stuck deciding between paying their medical bills, putting food on the table, and filling up their tanks.
Michael Guest has shown us what he believes in. He’s voted down Medicare expansion and caps for prescription drugs and insulin. He refused to fund additional benefits for toxic-exposed veterans — many of whom fought in Korea and Vietnam.
With this record, Social Security will likely be on his chopping box next.
We need to address Social Security and Medicare on the national level. Federal funding runs out in 2035 for SS and 2026 for Medicare. We need to scrap the SS cap for millionaires and expand Medicare. If we don’t, Mississippi seniors will see their benefits significantly cut or axed. It’s a ticking clock.
When I started my campaign, I promised my mom that I would make sure she still got her Social Security check every month. That more seniors receive quality healthcare access. And that we look out for those who taught us, supported us, and made us who we are today.
Help me keep my promise to my mom and deliver real solutions for Mississippi seniors on Capitol Hill. Donate $50, $25, $15, or just $5 today.
