Friend —
A few weeks ago, Trump announced a horrifying rollback of protections that would open Alaska's virgin Tongass National Forest to unprecedented logging and development projects. Logging companies could soon raze more than half of the 17-million acre forest to the ground — releasing vast amounts of carbon into the atmosphere and tearing apart the world's largest old-growth temperate rainforest. The Tongass is a vital ecosystem with unparalleled wildlife that is known as "America's Climate Forest" because of its unsurpassed ability to mitigate climate impacts.
What's more: Alaskan Native communities — including the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian peoples — have depended on the Tongass National Forest for millennia.
It is the backbone of their culture, traditions, and communities — we simply cannot let it disappear.
Despite the cultural and environmental significance of the Tongass, Trump wants to gut protections for this forest just to give a handout to corporate loggers.
To save this forest, LCV supporters like us have to be louder than the corporations lobbying Trump for the forest's natural resources. With just one click, you can send a message directly to the Forest Service and urge them to STOP this blatant handout to loggers.

INSTANTLY SUBMIT A PUBLIC COMMENT TO THE FOREST SERVICE:
"I support keeping the current Roadless Rule protections in place for the Tongass National Forest. Destroying the forest would be yet another attack from the Trump administration on Indigenous rights. We must do everything we can to keep this old growth forest untouched for generations to come."
