July 8, 2022
Greetings,
We hope you had a great Fourth of July and week! Congressman Kim enjoyed a busy week criss-crossing the district, visiting local businesses, and hearing directly from some of you all. As always, we hope you find the following updates and resources helpful.
Congressman Kim Hosts Roundtable to Discuss Mental Health and Suicide Prevention with Veterans and Servicemembers
On Wednesday, June 6th, Congressman Kim hosted a roundtable to discuss mental health and suicide prevention with veterans and servicemembers.
On prioritizing increased access to mental health resources for our veterans:
“It’s an honor to work on behalf of New Jersey’s veterans, who have sacrificed so much for our country and remind us what it means to serve. Today I heard more about the barriers veterans face every single day to accessing mental health services, alongside the stigma, fear, and difficulty dealing with bureaucrats in Washington. I’m proud to have nearly doubled the funding for veteran suicide prevention efforts and delivered tangible results for New Jersey’s Third District. I also know much more work remains and I’ll never stop fighting for New Jersey veterans and military families.”
Congressman Kim Holds Town Hall, Discusses Increased Cost-of-Living and Efforts to Protect Women’s Rights
On Thursday, July 7th, Congressman Kim hosted a town hall at Mount Laurel Community Center to discuss the current cost-of-living challenges, legislative efforts to strengthen the U.S. supply chain, improve technology and counter Chinese influence, and the U.S. Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Congressman Kim shared more about his work to defend women’s rights, privacy, and access to reproductive care in New Jersey and across the country. Congressman Kim was joined by Dr. Lisa Perriera, Chief Medical Director at The Women’s Centers for how this could affect healthcare across the country.
