Dear Comrades,
In recent months we’ve seen an escalation of gender-based and white-supremacist violence ([link removed]) from across the political spectrum of the US, on institutional and interpersonal levels.
[link removed]
Imprisonment, policing, surveillance, and criminalization are not the solutions to any of our political, economic or social problems, not in this time of compounded crises and not ever.
We know that as state and institutional violence escalates, horizontal or interpersonal violence also intensifies. We know that cages are antithetical to our gender or humanely needs. Body autonomy and reproductive rights are cornerstones of PIC abolition. These understandings are rooted in the fact that PIC abolition is a feminist politic.
In these trying times, we want to offer some analysis, resources and calls to help ground us in this moment ([link removed]) , and uplift the ways in which PIC abolition requires a commitment and learning from queer and women of color feminisms.
