Since Joe Biden's first day in office, this administration has INTENTIONALLY and REPEATEDLY taken actions to increase prices at the pump. Now, Biden is begging countries along the Persian Gulf to increase oil production while actively crushing America's domestic energy production.
Last week, the Supreme Court rightfully struck down the EPA's power grab to limit carbon emissions. It made clear that this administration cannot bypass Congress to write overreaching, costly regulations. This is a major win that curbs President Biden's ability to unilaterally issue sweeping radical, Green New Deal-inspired environmental policies.
This week, there are reports that Joe Biden has released more than 5 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and exported them to Asia and Europe. The SPR is designed to alleviate supply disruptions that come from emergencies, war, and weather events. NOT for political purposes. The American people deserve to know why they are paying $5 a gallon for gas while our emergency reserves are sent overseas. We must unleash American energy and restore domestic production.

Should we be sending barrels of our Strategic Petroleum Reserve overseas?

Over the weekend, I was shocked to find out that the Belgian Government has cut a deal with the world’s leading state-sponsor of terrorism and plans to send Iranian terrorist Asadollah Assadi back to Iran to plot more terroristic acts. I led a letter with 12 of my colleagues to the President of the Belgium Chamber of Representatives and all Belgian parliamentarians to reject any language in the bill that would allow terrorists to go back to their terror nests. You don’t catch a killer snake that has attacked to kill you, only to put it back in the snake pit.
Earlier this Congress, 254 Representatives—both Democrats and Republicans—co-sponsored House Resolution 118, expressing support for the Iranian people’s desire for a democratic, secular, and nonnuclear Republic of Iran and condemning violations of human rights and state-sponsored terrorism by the Iranian Government. One such example of Iran’s state-sponsored terrorism was further highlighted in the text of that resolution: Asadollah Assadi’s plot, at the behest of the terroristic regime in Tehran, to blow up a peaceful gathering of dissidents and democracy advocates in Paris, France, on June 30, 2018.
If this shameful deal is approved, it would turn Belgium into a safe haven for the mullahs’ terrorism. This is not only wrong, but also immoral, and would make Europe and the Americas unsafe and ripe for more terrorism at the hands of the Iranian regime.

The Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall was in Texas City this past week. It was an honor to be a part of the ceremony and to recognize the 76 Galveston County veterans Killed in Action (KIA) and those who served in the Vietnam War. Ernest Matthews, a Vietnam War veteran and president of the local chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America, dreamed of bringing the wall to Galveston County, and his dream came true this week. It was a great tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Mark you calendars! On July 16th my office will be hosting a Hurricane Preparedness Expo in Brazoria County. There will be local elected officials and over a dozen non-profits and agencies to provide resources on how to be better prepared for a hurricane. I encourage you to come out and invite a friend to attend the event.

Last week, Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra suggested using taxpayer money to help transport women for abortion services in the wake of the historic Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade: “We are looking into everything, including assisting in transportation, something that HHS doesn’t typically do.” When NBC’s Kate Snow pressed him on if this is even legal, Sec. Becerra had NO answer.
MAKE NO MISTAKE: The Biden administration will stop at NOTHING to push their radical abortion on-demand up until the moment of birth agenda. Last week’s ruling will save COUNTLESS innocent lives, but House Republicans must continue to fight against Far-Left Democrats' extreme policies that seek to use taxpayer dollars to fund these deadly procedures.
THE NUMBERS: - Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America has now recorded more than 40 acts of violence and intimidation against pro-life individuals and organizations since the initial leak of the draft Supreme Court opinion.
- The U.S. is one of a small handful of nations, including China and North Korea, that allows late-term abortion on demand up to the moment of birth.
- The American people overwhelmingly believe babies born alive should be protected.
- According to a new Marist/Knights of Columbus poll, 61% of Americans say abortion should either be:
- Illegal - 17%;
- Left to be up to the states - 44%.
- A recent Economist/YouGov national survey shows the majority of Americans support limiting abortion at 15 weeks at the latest:
- The majority of Americans hold strong opposition to Congressional Democrats and the Biden administration’s support of taxpayer-funded abortions:
- 58% oppose taxpayer dollars funding abortions in the U.S.
- 77% oppose taxpayer dollars funding abortion in other countries.
- 63% of Americans, including 42% of Democrats, oppose new federal rules that allow abortion pills to be sent through the mail without an in-person visit to a medical professional.
- On the government forcing their radical agenda on Americans:
- Three-quarters say healthcare professionals who have religious objections to abortion should not be forced to perform them.
- 54% say organizations who have religious objections to abortion should not be legally required to provide insurance coverage for abortion.
- Since 2016, pregnancy centers have saved more than 800,000 lives.
