I spend a lot of time on the campaign trail talking to voters, community members, and everyday people who have so much on the line in this election.
I'm not begging the coffers of big business or super PACs, I'm talking to people like Frances, a social worker, who chipped in $17 because she's tired of seeing so many families fall into poverty due to our lack of a social safety net.
I talk to people like Mary, the 3rd grade teacher who threw in $5 because she wants to see her students succeed and knows how much a quality education matters in the life of a child.
I talk to folks like Luis, a professional caretaker, who devotes his life to caring for the elderly, who donated $3 because he believes all workers deserve to be paid a living wage and treated with dignity and respect.
People like Frances, Mary, and Luis are the backbone of this campaign. They are the reason I'm running, fighting, and why I have hope and belief in the power of grassroots and collective action.
That's the power of this community, John. While not everyone can donate thousands, or even hundreds, when we all contribute what we can, we have the power to transform and change the course of our country.
Thanks so much for all you do,
Christy
Christy Smith is running an entirely grassroots campaign that doesn't rely on corporate PAC or special interest money. Your generous support is key to flipping CA-27 from red to blue. As one of only 14 "toss-up" races in the country, the path to holding our Democratic majority in Congress goes straight through CA-27. Will you pitch in and help flip this seat red to blue once and for all?
