John,
Hi, I’m Dan with JanePAC. The catastrophic effects of climate change are growing more severe each day.
The United States experienced 20 climate-related disasters in 2021. That’s second only to the year before where we experienced 22.
There seems to be no sign of slowing down – so far this year we have seen record floods, drought, wildfires, and deadly storms wreak havoc on communities across the country.
All told, these disasters are projected to cost the United States an estimated $100 billion or more each year, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. What’s more, these disasters are directly threatening the homes and health of hundreds of millions of people across the globe.
We cannot stay silent as our homes and our neighbors’ homes face imminent danger.
We need members of Congress to stand up to the fossil fuel industry and pass climate legislation, but we shouldn’t have to wait for effective climate action – President Biden has the authority to declare a climate emergency and act to reign in planet-warming fossil fuel pollution right now before it’s too late. Sign our petition today to make it clear to the President and the rest of our elected leaders that we need an emergency declaration now before it’s too late.

Without immediate emergency action to transition away from fossil fuels, our future looks bleak. That’s why we are asking you to join us by adding your name right now to demand that the President declare a climate emergency and use the full weight of his office to avoid climate catastrophe while we still can.

Thank you for demanding climate action,
Dan Rowe
